.....So why does the land need redeeming?
Any worship of the creation rather than the Creator; the bowing (submission) of a person's life to ideas and images which exalt themselves against the knowledge of God Almighty as He has revealed Himself in His Son, Jesus and His Word. (Exodus 20:1-10)
Graven Images/Idols: Do not make images, bow down tot hem, worship them, put confidence in them or pray to them. The result of idolatry is curses on the place of their location and those who worship them to the 3rd and 4th generations. Images usually have demonic power attached to them; do not collect them personally or allow anything which represents or has been used in the worshiping of anything other than God. They must be removed and destroyed as they bring a curse on your house and hinder your authority in Christ. God's plan for these idolatries is for His people (under the direction of the Holy Spirit) to: "destroy the high places of worship of false gods, tear down the altars, burn the images with fire" and otherwise "LUO" them off the earth: luo, loo'-o; a primary verb; (literal to "loosen" figurative) break (up), destroy, dissolve, (un-)loose, melt, put off.
Matthew 16:19 (KJV) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. I John 3:8 (NKFV)…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy (LUO) the works of the devil.
Includes murder, suicide, and abortion, human and animal sacrifices. Numbers 35:33 (NKJV) So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. Genesis 4 (Cain and Abel). This can only be redeemed by the Atonement (Blood Sacrifice of Jesus Christ). This defilement causes violence, famine, barrenness, drought, floods, and no strength in the land to bear fruit.
Perversion of Unconditional Love: includes adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, bestiality, sex orgies, sex with demons, pornography. Leviticus 18:25 thus the land became defiled and I punished it for the iniquity and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
James 3:14-16 (NKJV) But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. {15} This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. {16} For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

New Ages Practices and Teaching: Today's New Age "Temples" could be sports arenas, theatres, and the internet. Fictional accounts of spiritual happenings which do not line up with God's word are drawing millions away from the TRUTH of Jesus Christ. Eastern religious influence has come to be incorporated in many of our schools – YOGA and Meditation. New Age or "enlightened thought" deny the Lordship of Jesus and that the Word of God is the Absolute standard of TRUTH.
Broken Covenants: In Isaiah 24:5-6, it is sin that brings calamities upon the land. "And the land is defiled under its people; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, and have broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore, the curse has devoured the earth, and they who dwell init are deserted; therefore the people of the earth are burned, and few men left." I Deuteronomy 28 there is established between God and His people and understanding of keeping covenant. God says that if we keep is commandments we will experience blessings and if not then cursing.
